The goal of this class is to use anecdotal examples to help expand the listener’s understanding of how vocal percussion technique can be modified to fit various styles and genres. Students should expect to leave with an introductory understanding of the similarities and differences between drum technique and theory for R&B, Jazz, Pop, and Rock, as well as the tools to build a personal methodology for other genres alongside these.
